Default Is this a problem?

Ok, I have had my 2000 Coupe, MN6, since August of 06. Since purchasing, I've put just over 900 miles on it (yes 900 miles). My question is as follows: tonight while driving I went to pass a slower vehicle. I was doing about 35 to 45 MPH in 3rd gear. I down shifted to 2nd and the vette took off like a bat out of hell (This thing does something to impress me every time I drive it).

While accelerating, I noticed a whistling noise, like a vacuum leak. Is this normal for the LS1? Or should I start looking for a vacuum leak? The idle seems to flutter a little but nothing crazy. If it's a vacuum leak any suggestions on where to start looking?
Vette was bone stock when I bought it. I added the following
Mods:

Z06 Titanium cat back Exhaust
X pipe with cats
Vararam BR2
Preditor Tune
Z06 Rear brake duct kit
Z06 front screens

Thanks, Bill

I would look at the vararam and the air pump feed hose connected to it--it often just falls off--Also the air pump is electric and it comes on intermittantly when the engine is 1st started or sometimes when the engine is loafing and transitioning to fast acceleration--the noise it makes is sort of a whistling sound or whine--I would open the hood--start it up and let it warm up--listening all the while under the front drivers side headlight area for the air pump to come on and see if that is the noise you're hearing underway--

First time I heard a "vacuum leak" whistling sound when high speed driving, I didn't know what it was. Then I found out it was the passenger side window not sealing properly. Sounds stupid, but check that.

I have the same problem with my 2003, I only notice it at certain engine loads or WOT and around 4000 rpms and it is intermittent. Checked all the things others have mentioned above. Can not pinpoint whether throttle body or intake. There is a service bulletin, I am thinking about have done.
F-body LS1 where famous for this.

I have it on my 03 at about 2100 rpm at 1/4 throttle. It started when I installed the Vortex airbox. I then had a blackwing and a maggie installed and its still there. Doesn't hurt anything. Just annoying sometimes.

Noticed mine when I modified a ZO6 air box to put on my vert. I'm like you as long as it doesn't hurt anything it does get annoying and it does get me

There used to be (2001 and prior I think) a small cavity at the input of the intake that caused this whistling. It was very noticable on my '01. I don't notice it on my '04.

I THOUGHT (can't recall 100%) that they filled this on future intakes, but possibly there is still a physical feature in there that causes the noise?

Thanks guys for the info. I checked everything that was suggested with negative results. I guess it something I will just have to live with. It's really no big deal I actually thought it sounded kind of neat.

Thanks again, Bill
