Replacing engine! Breathless performance is selling there test engine!
My engine hydrolocked two weeks ago and the insurance is picking up the tab. I had my car brought to corvette concepts in Ft. Myers Florida. The owner said that Ernie at Breathless Performance is willing to sell his test motor with stage 2 heads and cam,ls6 intake and ported throttle body for 6500. Does anyoned know anything about this motor and what kind of abuse it may have seen? He said the heads were from air flow research which I am not to familar with. Any help or suggestions guys...

What are the engine details?
I'd ask for it to be honed & re-ringed. Inspect while it's apart and you should be ok. Replace the valvesprings too. Inspect the Pushrods/lifters/cam. Replace the Timing chain with a Cloyes/Jwis setup. Also what are the rod & rob bolt details? Don't forget the Jwis chain. Hell, their motor has to come out anyhow. Insist on all of the above.

That motor had nitrous on it, how much & how often it was used, I don't know. Unless BPP will offer a warranty on it, I wouldn't touch it. :nonod:

The engine has been out of the car for some time now. 449pacecar how do you know the engine nitrous on it. Also didn'd bowerboy spray his as well? Actually the heads are airflow technology out of Miami..

I have sprayed mine and have never had a problem. Never even discolored a plug! I only used either a 75 or 100 shot. I ran 11.90 at 117.5 with a 2.1 60 foot the weekend I took the motor out of my car.
My motor is still for sale at almost half the cost of the BPP engine you are considering.

You can get a brand new LS6 for that price. I would take that over a modded test engine any day.

I have no problems with BPP, we get along great. :)
But without a specific warranty from BPP, I wouldn't do it. :nonod:
