LS6 is pretty much drop in solution. LS2 is a lot of work. LS3 might be even more. I am not an expert at these things, but from what I have read, the end cost might be at least double the price of the engine. The engine will fit, but the problem comes down to all the electronics and computers in the car.
If you have big bucks to spend, you are going to make some tuner very happy. You give him a nice unique project, which he will be able to spend lots of hours on.

It is not that much work at all (comparably). I swapped and L92 into a '97 C5 with about the same effort as any engine swap; the LS3 has alot of the same characteristics. The heads on the LS3 should make it worth swapping over an LS6, but I admittedly haven't done a price comparison. Casper makes all the wiring adapters so it is really relatively painless. I did the swap in my garage with a 'cherry picker' removing the engine from the top; did have to drop the K-frame but that is also really no big deal. The only problem you will run into is if you have a '97-'98 computer these seem to require delicate tuning, or of course an ECM swap, which I personnally have not done - but doesn't seem as radical as it sounds.
Give us a call, 813-628-0080, not far from you and can do anything you want to. We can quote the LS3 as well, but as mentioned above, for the $ you can get more bang for the buck with a build.

Swapping a C6 PCM into a C5 chassis is ALMOST impossible. The C6 computers use a new protocol to communicate with each other called CAN, while the C5 computers use the Class2 protocol. If you put a C6 PCM in the C5 you'd also have to put in a C6 BCM ... EBCM ... well ... you start to get the picture .... notgonnahappen.com

I'm sure he meant a PCM swap with a 99-04 where tuning is much easier and better supported.

Absolutely correct; I meant to say that you can swap in an ECM after '98 which is more 'tunable'.... Sometimes I wonder if the folks commenting have ever even attempted the modifications themselves.....I don't know what most folk's budgets are but if you have a C5 it is hard to go it on the cheap, even if you do it yourself.
As far at the reluctor wheel goes, that is a given. I would suggest L92 heads and L76 manifold over previous though. Ensure you talk to someone who has actually done the mechanical work themselves, not just read/talked about it.
