Default 3.73s or 4.10s

Looking for some advise on gears guys. Which gears do yall reccomend with A4. I have a 02 with vararam, full exhaust, 100-150 shot "depends on my mood" and a tune. I'm looking for all around 1/8-1/4 performance but I don't wanna give up alot of highway driveablity either. I'm looking at doing a 3200 convertor also.

Because you threw in "highway driveability" I'd go with 3.73. Good tight combo with a 3200 stall too.

Go with 3.73s. I have 4.10s on 2 cars and if you get 3.73s I can beat you away from the stop light! I love the 4.10s.

4.10's are a steep gear on an auto. Love em on my 6 spd though.

you cant just throw out ratios with out knowing the exact combo.. What are the power levels you are shooting for in the future? If you are running 1/8 mile are you setting it up to run through in third or second? What converter? How much tire will you have on the car for street and track? Spraying the car we would probably stay with 3.42's. How much highway driving will the car see? Feel free to call me with any questions. We have set up a few combos in the past and feel we have a pretty decent grasp on gearing.

A 373/A4 combo is gona make 1st gear useless and jack you up 500 rpms at 70 mph on the highway.

Im running a 342/A4/3200 and a 150 shot and going through the traps at 6700 rpms in the 1/4.

Needless to say , i cant hit the other 150 shot till i get a taller tire ,, hehe

Stupid question, but what gear? I have 3:15s and 6700 rpm in 3rd gear puts me at about 160 mph. I am not a quarter mile racer, so I may be missing something completely.

The car on a 150 shot went 10.53@134/1.68 60' in 3rd gear @ 6700 rpms with a 275/40/17 M/T drag radial .

At the time i could not spray in over drive so shifting into 4th was out of the question .
