Default Help Please - Reinstalling stock intake

As the title says, I am reinstalling my stock intake. I have a rubber donut that I had stuffed into the intake with all the other parts when I took it off but now can't figure where this piece fits if at all. The MAF fits into the filter bellows fine. The bridge slides into the back of the MAF seemingly fine but it's plastic to plastic while the front bellow is rubber. Reinstalling the whole thing without this piece seems to fit okay but just doesn't seem right. I'm stumped....help?

You have a locator tab on one side and a locating recess on the other. If no one responds there are only two or three places along the intake that it would fit. Take it back apart and see how the locators fit up to other componets.

P.S. You're like me. If I work on a car long enough, I have enough parts left over to build another complete car.

It goes between the MAF and the air bridge to make a seal.

Plastic to plastic will let air leak in and the MAF will not get a correct reading for all the air going into the motor.

The raised keyways and notches should match up to notches on the airbridge and MAF.

They must have changed the design. My 2003 has nothing like that at the MAF. I am the original owner and have stock system.

Starting at airbox I have A rubber boot/elbow w/ clamp,MAF connects and the the stock plastic elbow with clamp, goes to throttle body.

Been there already. It looks like it wants to fit behind the MAF but a tab and the considerable lip on the bridge keeps it from fitting that way.

Good to know, thanks. I'm going to install without it and see how it runs.

Anyone else able to identify that part????????????
