I replaced my oil pressure sensor last night and it worked right away after I got everything put back together. Then when i started it up this morning, it's broken again. Did I screw up the install, or could it be something else screwed up?

I've seen several members suggest three things:
1) purchase new sensor from NAPA
2) make absolutely certain that all electrical connections are COMPLETELY free of any oil residue.....clean, then clean again and blow dry before installation of new sensor.
3) make certain that the new sensor is NOT over torqued. recommended torque is 15 ft. lbs., I believe, so make certain you are using an accurate torque wrench, and if in doubt, get a good one. may even consider torque to 13 or 14 ft. lbs.

The one from Napa is made in mexico also. Its steel not brass....... I just checked today. The way I see it dosnt matter who you buy it from its a crap shoot. Some guys change em and there fine and somtimes there not. Im getting mine replaced tomarrow, The one in there now lasted about 3 months. Seems so far that the relocation thing works out the best. Thats probably where Ill go next if the one installed tomarrow takes a dump......
I ended up making an appointment at the local dealership to get it replaced. It's only $97 for the labor and since i originally bought the part with them it's under warranty. I figure, this way if it breaks again they will fix it for free since they warranty their work for a year.
Funny thing is it's the same senor in a SSR and other GM products and you don't hear anyone else in large numbers replacing them. I wonder why they fail in Vettes and not the others.

GM is will warrant the part for 12 months. Return it to them and get a new one for free! It also helps to serve notice to GM that they are providing bad parts.
