I have used sacrifical anodes for years in both auto and diesel engine cooling systems (in both copper and aluminum radiators) but I haven't read mention of them on this forum?
Your thoughts as to where to install? Some one must be clever enough to have done this.

Sacrifical anodes are probably not mentioned in this forum because just about all the parts that come in contact with the cooling water are aluminum, reducing galvinic corrosion. That being said thoes running iron blocks would benifit from using a magnesium anode, not a zinc or aluminum anode.

Plus, where to locate it can be a pain too. With the tank having a "grid" right under the radiator cap, where to put one? The type that are sold for mounting in a more conventional radiator with the cap directly on the radiator itself would be OK, but we don't have that set-up. Inside a hose? No access and would involve removing/cutting a hose so that's pretty much out too.
Best advice would be to keep a good check on the coolant and keep proper mix, etc.
