Differential Leak
Two years ago when the car was two years old, with 7000 miles, I had the left differential cover plate resealed as a warranty issue. It looks like they followed the procedures in the Tech Service Bulletin. Last weekend I had some fun with it in the Great Smokies and Blue Ridge. The day after I returned I noticed a small spot of oil under the differential (about the size of a couple of silver dollars), and an oil film on the left side of the differential. I cleaned it up, took it out for a run, and since then there has been no sign of oil on the differential or under the car. FYI, the car has 14000 miles on it now.
Is it possible that the hard driving caused the differential vent to burp out some fluid? I really don't feel like taking it back to Mr. Goodwrench if I don't have to. It looks like the capacity of the unit is 1.8 quarts, so there should be enough remaining.
But actually there is a one way check valve for overflow. I cleaned up the area that had fluid and have not seen any since. However, since your seeing silver dollar size drops on the floor as well as fluid from the left side I would watch it carefully for a while
