SOLVED: Installed new Head Unit, car won't start! Help!
Just installed a new head unit. I ran accesory power from yellow wire hanging lose behind kickpanel on passenger side. When i turn my key to "on" all my power accesories work (windows, locks, stereo)...however, i get *nothing* on the DIC display. If i turn the key to run my security light blinks and the car dings at me. I took my center console back off to make sure nothing was disconnected. All appears well. What could I have possibly done to cause this?
EDIT: Additionally my keyless entry is now not working. What is strange is i had the stereo all installed last night and the car started fine...i just hadn't reassembled the center console yet. I put all that back together today and now noticed this problem. Any help is *GREATLY* appreciated as i need to drive to work tomorrow :p
Step 1: Disconnect the yellow wire, as it is not an accessory wire
Step 2: Reconnect to orange wire at ignition harness
Step 3: Get your *** back to CZ28, the lounge is dead

Where is the ignition harness?
A guy in the audio sticky posted the yellow wire is accessory...it seems to power the radio fine at least. I'll disconnect it and see what happens.
1) With my radio plugged in (powered off that yellow wire), the security light does *NOT* blink...and no dinging. When I noticed that earlier was with the radio disconnected (one of my first troubleshooting steps was to unplug the wiring harness from the radio)
2) If i unplug the harness from the radio (which effectively disconnects the yellow wire) the security light will blink and ding will sound when i try to start it.
3) Either way...car won't start using or not using that yellow wire (this is the spare yellow that is simple cut & taped...so it was never connected to anything to begin with).
I can't...the DIC is dead. The LCD is blank and none of hte buttons elicit a response...and I don't have a scanner. If it would start...i could bring it somewhere to get it scanned though

It sounds like you have a battery cable problem. Have you checked all of your connections on the battery, starter, ground to make sure they are tight ?
Also chech IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) fuse to that it works ? Do you have interior lights ?

I know you said that you tried to jump the car, but my guess is still dead battery! While installing my stereo I drained my battery several times. These cars do strange things when presented with low voltage.
Any more ideas? I must have knocked a wire lose or something somewhere...but i didn't come in contact with very many.
EDIT: Additionally...during my install i discovered a Clifford alarm device (perimeter sensing unit). I have no fob or control device of sorts for this alarm. I wonder if the alarm thinks the car is being stolen? Possibly there's a kill switch somewhere? I know jack about alarms :-/

Well, i found what appears to be the "brain" for the alarm and disconnected it. Same symptoms still.
SOLVED! Apparently the Clifford alarm that was int he car (which I had no idea was there until i installed the HU this weekend) had been left in Valet mode since before i bought it. The previous owner didn't have any key fobs...and never mentioned there being an alarm (betting he didn't know either). At any rate...the alarm had gone out of valet mode. It's a clifford though which requires a PIN number to go in and out of valet mode. I don't have the PIN either. Ultimately i decided to just unhook the alarm system and reconnect the ignition and started positive wires bypassing the alarm. Now everything works fine and dandy.
So the problem wasn't my C5 at all...but a pile of crap alarm system. Good riddance!
Special thanks to Bill Curlee for his assistance on this one! What a guy to go out of his way and give me assistance on the phone!
