Default Power seat question

My 98 has power seats, both driver and passenger. The seats move forward, up and down fine however the lumbar support in both has stopped working. The motor? makes a noise when I push the switches but the seats, both, no longer "inflate/adjust". I have removed the passenger seat but can not find the problem. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Either you got holes in your bladders, bad hoses or a bad air pump.

You'll have to pull the seats out and take them apart to check the hoses and bladders.

Pump is directly under the front of the seat and you should be able to check if it is pumping air.

Sounds like the pump is running, so that's good.

When you push the switch the other way, it releases the air in
the bladder by opening a valve. Any tiny obstruction in the valve
that keeps it open would cause your problem.

Otherwise, you have a leak in a hose, or the bladder.

Welcome to the club, this is a common issue and the problem is with the plastic inlet fittings that are attached to the bladders. They become brittle and break off. Remove the seat covers and you will see a main bladder and side bolster bladders with hoses to the pump. Replace the main bladder with a Core 360 manual bladder (remove the air bulb) and attach to seat hose.

Amazon has these for $39.95, you can also find smaller similar ones just search the internet if you wish to replace the bolster bladders. The dealer price for a factory replacement is over $500.00 just for the part!
I have issued a formal complaint to GM about the outrageous cost for this part.

We have a '98 Vert that was built in March with power memory seats but no lumbar adj. Did they come out later like AH?
