Default Temp read xxx

My car temp goes to 260 as soon as I turn the car on, and the dic reads xxx. The only thing I did different was new plugs. But I did try Ranger's fan trick the day before. I had no problems at all the whole day. Today I changed temp sensor and checked fuses. Nothing. I read a few post and tried to clear the codes. Now after I start the car it comes on about 15seconds later, at first it would come on immetiately.

Here is a update. I replaced the temp sensor wishing it was bad, nothing. I check the connector and it was good. I had a friend set the codes with one of his tools from work. Nothing. He then reflashed my computer and it work. I thought all was good. Then today after work I get in the car and it cuts off. Then I restart it and the temp went to 260 again. Can someone please help.

Check the wiring from the temp sensor. Follow it to the PCM and look for somewhere it might be shorting out.
