Default GM extended service warranty coverage

Hello fellow C5 owners. I have a question for those of you with experience with the GM Major Guard extended service warranty.
I bought my 2001 Z06 from the original owner, who purchased an extended warranty on it from GM. The warranty has been transferred to me, and is valid through October or 75k miles. The car has 68.5k. The driver's seat has the rocking problem. Will the warranty cover it?
What about the clutch? It engages pretty late in the pedal travel, so I am thinking it is reaching the end of its usable life. Will the warranty help or am I on my own?
Thanks in advance.
Dan

edit: car is STOCK, btw.

The rocking seat they may address, but the clutch is probably going to be considered a "wear" item, especially at that mileage. The only way to find out is to ask them.
I've got GMPP warranties on all of our vehicles. They seldom argue any issue and issues are resolved in the customers favor, at least in my experience. I have our Trailblazer into the dealership today...cost for an wood pecker sounding failing actuator (requires dash removal) and viscous fan clutch is $1,256.77 parts and labor and I'm paying only a deductible of $50.00!

OK, thanks.

I just read the details and you are right, "manual clutch disc" is listed explicitly as an item that is NOT covered.

Do you think it is worth the $200 deductible out of my pocket to fix the rocking seat? I mean, can I fix it myself better for cheaper? I might just skip the warranty service and just handle all of this myself.

Maybe the clutch just needs adjustment?

I had my clutch replaced under the GM extended warrenty. However, mine was due to a "snapping" sound when the clutch was engaged while in neutral. The dealer replaced the clutch disc, pressure plate, flywheel, slave cylinder and shifter linkage. This was on an '04 with 11,500 miles. Fortunatly I purchased the extended warrenty prior to the expiration of the original 3 year, 36K. They found a defective spring on the clutch disc.

The rocking seat issue has been discussed a lot in the past. Do a search in the C5 Technical forum and use keywords "rocking seat" and you should find past discussions.
The repair is done with nylon washers, so in answer to your question, spending the $200 deductible out of pocket probably isn't a good idea since it's a DIY project.

The GMPP will replace the seat track. The advantage to doing this is the part is then warrantied in full for a full year or 12K miles from the date of the repair.

Are you sure the clutch is going? The hydraulic clutch is self adjusting for wear and you usually wouldn't notice the pedal getting higher. Are you experiencing any slippage?

Alright, thanks for the replies.

I was thinking that I would take it to the dealer, hoping to have the ENTIRE seat replaced, but maybe that is just wishful thinking. The jury is still out, but I will definitely try and do my research. If anyone else has input on GMPP Major Guard service of the rocking seat, I would love to hear about it.

About the clutch: Last night I did the Ranger-suggested clutch fluid protocol. The fluid was probably the original stuff. I have only owned the car for a couple months and have put about 2,000 miles on it, some of that being 1/8 mile drag, auto-x, and road course mileage. I have NOT experienced any slippage that I know of. But, when doing the fluid protocol last night, during the pedal-pumping, I hear consistent squeaking coming from what I am deducing is the throwout bearing. It sounds as if it could use some grease. Once the car is started, the sound can't be heard over the din of the engine. Is the sound normal? I haven't noticed any negative effects, simply the noise that is only audible when the clutch pedal is depressed with the engine off.
I am really just trying to prepare myself for the clutch job, and I won't be upset if it is thousands more miles until the car needs the work done.
Thanks again for any tips...
