Its strange. My homemade cd's work great in the dash but in the changer they crackle alot and have static. Has anyone tried a cd head cleaner in the changer? I don't know if that would help or not. can anyone offer any advice or is the changer just sub par equipment.
I have the same problem but never tried to clean the changer because, for some reason, albums not burned play fine. Different brands of burnable cds seem to do better or worse in the changer but most of them all have noticeable sound problems. If some1 knows why or how to fix it Id love to hear it.
Try a different colored cdr, some lasers has problems with some of the cdr's available, at least with computers. I had the same problem with my wife's Honda cd player; used a different colored cdr and it works fine.

I just bought my 2002 and yes, home made cds sound terrible in the changer, static, skipping, etc. No solution except to use original cd's in the changer and home made in the dash.
