Oil Consumption Solution?
Well, I talked to my dealer and they wanted to check the car over (very professional and willing to look even though the consumption rate was considered "normal" by some; they felt that since it didn't use oil before, any use now is unacceptable :) ). They had the car for two days and found a slight leak just above the oil filter (engine area 2E - whatever that means). They pulled a bolt, re-sealed and re-installed it. This stopped the leak, so the car should not "burn" oil now.
The kicker here is that I was not able to see the leak (I did crawl underneath and check. It certainly couldn't be because my expanding girth won't allow me to get directly under the oil filter area :) ). I did not notice any unusual smells, like burning oil, nor was there ever a puddle or spot on the concrete under the car
I will have to wait to see if this does solve the problem ( I am confident it should) as we have to park our car for the winter :(
For those still having oil consumption issues, I would check this area very carefully. Given my experience, you may have to use an oil dye to find it, or someone with real good eyes. I hope this helps!
