Just replace the tank...You could buy one for 50 bucks....And it only takes about 45min to replace.....Nothing sticks well one coated in antifreeze....And nothing sticks well to plastic....
Mine too started leaking at that same small tube connection to the main body. My guess is the small hose from it to the radiator needs some type of support from shaking. Lots of people are having these suddenly go bad. As others have already said, $50 is nothing for a whole new tank assembly and it includes the low coolant sensor too. Just replace it.

Good observation. Although the hose is not heavy, it does have a lot of unsupported length. I just wire-tied my hose to the rubber coated section of the AC line, which is more rigid.
Did you come up with a better way to support the small hose when yours broke?
If course, it could just be that age and heat causes the plastic to crack, but extra support for the hose could not hurt. As long and flexible as the small hose is, I would not think it would cause undue stress from thermal expansion on the fittings if it was tied down in the middle.

Try one of the forum sponsors for a better price, or look up the part on GMPartsDirect.com. Their parts are cheaper, but watch out for freight costs, and you should not be in a hurry to get the parts.
I just looked up the tank on the GM Parts House site, and it was $49.92 plus about $8 shipping. (00-04) Don't know what year your car is.

I don't know what Gene Culley's price is but you should try him. I looked all over for the best prices and found they were $50, then called the local dealer to go to for service and offered him $50 since I have business names who would sell it too me. The said "Ok", to keep your business.
