Default Lowering c5 on stock bolts?

I have heard many do this, and say this. Exactly what does this mean. i have been searching for 30 mins on a write up of some sort how to lower your c5 on stock bolts... and i cant find anything. Can somone who has it on thier favorites just link this for me please. or direct me to the right path.

also after lowering would the car need a new alignment?

thanks!!

Stock C5 rim sizes front and rear lowered 1 inch using factory bolts.
Make sure you get an alignment after you drop the car.
