im replacing the highly modified engine in my C5 with a stock ls1 from a camaro. the C5 is an 01, and the camaro is a 02.
the reason is the camaro engine is a take-out engine and only has 25 miles on it. i got a HECK of a deal
ive swapped the oil pan and windage tray. Im to the point now of swapping my harmonic balancer. I have a new vette balancer. question i have is.....
in the manual it talks about scribing a mark so you can replace it.....what if my balancer is new....how do you align that?
it also speaks of swapping weights....what weights and how?
what is a fail proof methid of getting this right. I do not want any vibrations, or any reason to have to remove it after the engine is installed...that would suck
I've never aligned mine, and I've never had any issues on my Camaro SS or either engine in my C5. Just put it on and torque it down properly, and you're good to go.
