Low on Fuel / Check Gages
I forcefully jamed on the accelerator in order to pass a vehicle,
My 98/C5 took off jerking me back in my seat.
Out into the passing lane and beyond the vehicle, letting off the
gas just as quickly and back into the right lane.
(The alarm sounded and the gas gage showed empty!)
(The dash showed check gages and low fuel!)
(I had 3/4 of a tank.) I turned the car off and waited, turned
it back on and everything was back to normal.
This happend several times until I got home.
I have already had the fix on the recall where the car shuts off
saying your out of fuel when your not.
CAN SOMEONE HELP!!!

Sounds like the old sulfur fouled sending unit problem. Mine's done it a few times. Techron is your friend. Add a can of Techron Plus every other fuel stop for a while and be sure to use Chevron or Texaco gas (they have Techron). Not sure what's available in Canada but that's what I use here. This fix is a lot cheaper than fuel sending units. HTH
