I know paint chips are inevitable, but what I can't understand is where in the world they come from. I hardly drive behind big trucks and I dont drive through places with any if at all rocks or pebbels or debris on the floor. Anyways, enough complaining.....
I was washing my car today and discovered a pretty big butt paint chip near the windshield of my c5. All my paint chips are near the nose of the hood, so I was shocked to say the least to find a chip, and a chip of this size, near the very top of my hood. My question is: Does the GM dealers have factory color touch up paints available (Quicksilver Metallic) and what is the best course of action in repairing the chip? I've heard of a product called Langka. Anyone have experience with it?
Yes, touch-up paint is available at your GM dealer. I have tried Langka and was not impressed. May have something to do with the fact that I am using it on a lighter color (Pewter). I am sure it would work really well on a solid color (torch red, black, white, etc...) I'll send you my Langka free of charge so you can try it out, if you cover s/h. Let me know. C-ya
