When I take a hard left hand turn there is a rattle under my car. I was under it and it looks like on the passenger side exhaust pipe the cat has very little room to the car frame. It was hard to see but it looks like the paint is rubbed off at the narrowest point.
My question is are there any suggestions to increase clearance or add some sort of cushioning material that will withstand the heat of the exhaust?
I have the exact same problem... exhaust rattling against the tunnel, most noticeably during a left hand turn. I'm running LG Pro long tubes, high-flow cats, and a stock ti exhaust.
On one side, the cat is contacting the tunnel where it narrows. On the other side, the clamp has to be facing outwards, and the bolt/flange is hitting the tunnel. I have a pretty rowdy cam, which makes for a lot of movement and contact under there.
It looks like there might be room to shift the cats forward, further into the headers... that would pull them away from the narrow part of the tunnel. Other than that, I may have to get everything welded to eliminate the clamps.
