Default Help me please!!

Hi guys and gals!

I have a huge problem!! I decided to change my OEM thermostat to a 160 degree one. Installing it was simple. I flushed my whole system and added 6 quarts of prestone antifreeze dex-cool then I topped it off with water. When I went to start the car I noticed that the check engine came on. I didnt think much of it because I figured I would just get to read the code tomorrow. So I tried to go out to the store and I noticed that my temperature started to increase as my speed increased. My gauge read 250 deg F at one point then it would drop to about 213 then back up. Anybody have an idea of what it might be before I take it to a shop.

You have AIR in the system....remove the cap, let it run for a few minutes...until it reaches a certain temp...you may need to add some coolant after wards. Better yet do a search on air in cooling system.
Good luck

You have to let the car run while the radiator cap is off. Keep topping off the coolant till it stops draining then your set.
