Default Need Tire Size Help

I have 2001 C5 running stock sizes 245/45/17 & 275/40/18. I recently purchased a set of stock Z06 wheels 9.5" x 17" & 10.5" x 18" and I am thinking of purchasing the Falken Azenis in 275/40/17 and 295/40/18 but I am unsure if the 295/40/18 will work properly with the Active Handling feature. The 275/40/17 is 25.6 OD and the 295/40/18 is 27.2 OD. Looks like most people have gone with the 315/30/18 which is also 25.6 OD. Please let me know. Thanks.

285-35-18 IS THE SAFEST for the stock rim.. anything larger will have to be stretched onto the rim.. People do it.. and claim its safe.. Same with Valiums and Jack Daniels... Make sure the rears are at least 1/2 inch larger than the fronts or you will have issues w/traction control / Active handling... The Computer will think the rear tires are spinning, basically... 295-30-18 will fit and lots of folks do it.. I would not take the chance of a blow out at 120mph.. If you drive under 70mph I wouldnt worry

Sorry I forgot to mention that I have recently purchased stock Z06 wheels 9.5 x 17" front & 10.5 x 18" and am using them for Track setup.
If I go with the 275/40/17 25.6"OD and 295/40/18 27.2"OD, that is a difference of 1.6". Will that work properly with T/C & A/C or is it too much of a difference. I also seen other members running Falken Azenis 275/40/17 & 315/30/18 and both tires have the identical OD of 25.6". They have not mentioned any problems with T/C & A/C but I am not sure if they are tracking their cars. Thanks,
