Also code 1016 which is loss of communication w/PCM.. Any common problems I have missed in a search. Ideas?/,, Thanks guys

Well several possibilities. Exam your Key, the key pellet maybe dirty or loose. Clean the key pellet with some rubbing alcohol. If loose need to get a new key made. You may have problems with contacts in the lock cylinder where it reads the Pellet. And finally you could have a bad connection at the Ignition switch and/or BCM.

I would hope for the basic of a dirty key pellet.
There is a post on the forum about testing your key pellet for proper resistance and determining if it is the right value for your car. There is also a post about ordering the right Pellet or something to that nature. IMHO to much of a hassle. If you have a friend at dealership just have them make a new one.
1016 was a result of the 2721 May have a bad switch, but you must assure all your connections and grounds are good

Just got to realizing you had the P1631
Well not to jump the gun, but now it seems you are having problems inside the cylinder lock housing. There are contacts in the cylinder lock housing that make contact to the key pellet. These contacts read the resistance value from the key pellet. Your pellet maybe loose, worn out and/or the pass key sensor in the lock is worn out. If all other connections check out you may want to get a new key/key pellet and cylinder lock assembly. IMO Cheapest to try new key setup.

David did the other key solve your problem? I'm having an issue with mine (both keys) same codes. Intermittant and a pia. It will start sometimes and others not. I have to do the 10 second wait for leaving key in and out about 4 times before the security light stops flashing and than it will start. I also have the security light pop on while driving at times.
