Retrain your key fob. Instructions are in owners manual and on this forum.
That is the easiest start.

What is the "fob"? Also the stereo has been changed, can this be a reason?

The FOB is the GM technical term for your keyless entry remotes.

I could be wrong but that should have nothing to do with the fact the remotes do not work.

When you filled out your profile, you didn't state what year vette you bought. The remotes are different for the 2001 and up (and cheaper).
From your post it sounds like you bought batteries for your fobs, if that's true, you could still have bad fobs. If you bought fobs, make sure you got the ones for your car. Post what year your car is and which fobs you got and we can tell you if you have the right ones. As stated, there is a relearn procedure in the manual and posted on this forum that will retrain the fobs to your car. Post what the situation is.

Default Read or download a free manual to do fob training

The fobs for 97-00 C5s have FCCID AB00216T on the back of them. Think the 01-04 say KOBLEAR or something like that. If you have the WRONG fobs they will NOT TRAIN to your car. If the TPM system is working then the receiver for the keyless entry system is too. Make sure you have the right fobs, retrain them and you should be good to go. My 98 can take 3 fobs as it has 3 memory positions. If you train ONE you MUST train them ALL. BIGHANK
