Default YET another slave thread

I've been readin threads like crazy about the slave unit and was wondering what is the best slave to go with? The LS6 slave I take it? Anybody got a link to a page with detailed instructions of replacing it? I ain't lookin forward to this job BTW, my C5 is a 2000 FRC w/ 93k on it if that matters

I have seen a few DIY posts, but I can't remember who posted. You might have to try the search function if no one replies. You have to pull the whole drive train from the rear carrier to the torque tube. May want to put in a new clutch and a remote bleeder from LAPD is a must.

Thanks for the reply! Yea, from what the prev owner told me, it just had a new clutch put in, so hopefully I'll just have to replace the slave. A remote bleeder is already installed.

I would talk to the previous owner if a new clutch was just put in. Every shop I know puts in a new slave cylinder in with every clutch job.

Ok, so what makes you think you need to replace the slave?

In regards to your question about the slave needing being replaced upon a clutch swap.

On models 04 and older the slave and master cannot support the heavier pressure plates and the pedal will stick to the floor. Thats why we always replace the slave and master.

Thanks

Richard
