My friend wants me to help him with his car. It's actually a 1999 Suburban w/ 350 engine and 4L60E tranny. Wanted to see what you guys thought this might be on the forum.
Here's the issue. Car runs like a champ. Shifts smooth whole nine yards. However, when driving up a hill or the engine is under load it doesn't know to downshift for some reason.
He says to recreate the problem, he will put the car on cruise and go up a decent hill. The engine lugs but never downshifts.

First thing to do is reset the control cable between the throttle and transmission. Maybe someone already has the instructions on how to do it. It's easy to do and may solve the problem in under five minutes.
