I went ahead and ordered on from the shop in Houston. My E-Bay experiences on car parts has been about 50/50 and not that good with electronic parts. So for a few bucks more I can have a little peace of mind.
I have "torn" into the knee bumper and removed the cover to find the connector and have pulled the cover off the fuses on the passenger side. When I get back from a hunting trip this weekend the part should be waiting at my door and 20 minutes later my black 99 will be back on the road.
Having successfully installed the CLB and all was wonderful I now have found out two things.
One: Once in awhile I still get the "pull your key out..." message. I do it and all is well.
Two: Now that I have done the CLB I hear there is a recall by the mfg. to completely remove the plate for a permanent fix. Timing is everything!!!
Now on to a new project: To replace and relocate the oil pressure sensor. Yippee!
with the clb your wheel should not lock. check with the ignition off and see if that's the case. the CLB eliminates the actuator from the process. If all is well, do NOT let a dealer play with it. Most dealers don't have a clue...............
