Default Looking for good alignment shop - N. VA

Looking for a place in Northern Virginia or S. Maryland area that will take their time and do it right. I had high hopes for Koons Chevy but after taking it back twice and now with tires that are bald on the insides, I'm done with them. Can anyone recommend a good shop?

Thanks!

Jason,

I've used Curry's in Chantilly. THey are a little pricey but I've been happy with their alignment services.

The Koons service manager was a dick to me the last time I went there, so I'm done with them.

The best alignment service I've ever received was at Joe Bowman's Chevrolet in Harrisonburg VA (about a 100 minute drive from DC). They did an awesome job on a 4 wheel alignment, plus they give you a color graphical print-out of the results (yaw, camber, etc values). They will also mount and balance tires on your Corvette for $5/tire. Sometimes you have to leave the big city to get decent, quick, and reasonably priced results.

Let me know if you find a good place in town.

I had mine done at Craven in Sterling, but they are Mr. Tire now so I don't know if they do the same work.

Curry's Auto Service in Chantilly or Sterling VA does great alignment work! Here's their webpage: http://www.currysauto.com/

Figures. I took my car to Koon's last year about this time. I had just lowered it the month before so I asked to have an alignment done with the oil change. The tech at Koons is very reputable and did a great job. The alighment guy was terrible. I had to ask for the printout and found one of the rear wheels was in the red. Guy did not even metion it to me, like I would never bother to ask.

A day later and 3.5 hours of additional work by the alignment guy and the shop manager got the numbers into reasonable tolerances. I complained to Koons CS and Koons ended up comping the alignment for me. They also scratched one of my wheels which they ended up replacing at no charge. That service ended up consting them money. I decided not to mess with them this year and just did my own service.

I hear Curry's has a good reputation. Good to know for next time. Good luck with it.

Default Alignment

I have a 2000 C5 with over 150 K I used Tony's Corvette Shop in Gaithersburg for my last alignment. I have managed to get at least 50K on each set of tires. I currently run Michelin Run Flats. Hope this helps

Ended up taking it to Curry's in Reston/Vienna. They did a great job, although a little pricey ($175). They spent the time and were able to get the exact specs I wanted, which the dealersip claimed they were not able to do. They seemed very knowledgeable and courteous, I'm happy so far.

$175 is about right for a quality custom alignment on the Corvette - similar to what Tonys Corvette Shop charges - but Curry's will also do corner weight/balancing upon request. Mike
