Default 00 Vette WONT MOVE???

I have a 2000 6spd that is having some problems. I have noticed for a while EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, when i get on it the clutch will stick (sticks to the floor kinda). Even though it dont happen a lot it does happen if I go to get on it hard some times. Then the problems got much worse, on my way home it was acting really messed up. It felt like the trans was going out. It would go if I babied the gas but if I didnt press it just right it would fell like it was in (N) and just rev up. By the time I got home it would feel like it was in (N) the whole time and NOT MOVE just put it and gear and NOTHING AT ALL. just revs up. I was told its prob a drive line support or a prop shaft and I will prob need new clutch sleve and master cly. for the clutch (the reason why the clutch sticks at times) I figure while they are in there might as well get a new clutch put in it as well. Does this sound right?

Flush/replace your clutch fluid, make sure it is CLEAN. See if that fixes it before you buy a new clutch.

It sounds like your pressure plate or disc is worn out.

Best way to check is to put car up in the air and remove the lower bell housing access plate to inspect the clutch and the associated parts.

Don't thing it's a brake fluid problem based on the fact that you can not move.

I would also try putting the car in 1st gear in an open area. Press the clutch down and start the car. If the car lurches forward then you may have a bad slave, or fluid problem if not it's probably the clutch itself.

You need to listen to the people in this thread because it's more of a clutch/slave cylinder issue.

The torque tube is nothing more than a drive shaft with rubber bushings on each end and when it goes you'll see different symptoms.

Bottom line, if you took it to a shop, then take it to a different shop for a second opinion

Default Slave cylinder .

Yep, had it done last month, no problems every since, but have listened to AGJ, and Ranger on keeping the fluid clean and clear with Dot 4 synthetic. Follow RANGER's protocol on clutch fluid syphoning.

When my TT bushings were going bad I picked up a very strong vibration under moderate acceleration but it did not affect the clutch action at all. Lots of people have the "Sticky Clutch Syndrome". Try changing the clutch fluid. If that doesn't work - it's new clutch and hydraulics time.

My TT bushings:

It's pretty simple to find out. Remove the bell housing inspection plate, put the car gear and turn the rear wheels. If you can turn the wheels and the clutch/flywheel doen't move you know it's aft of the clutch.

Pretty simple elimination of potential suspects.

Read this thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1827643
Down towards the bottom of the first page somebody shows what happens when a torque tube coupler comes apart, and his car would still move.
