When I turn on my headlamps they come up properly. When I turn them off, they both go down, but the right motor continues to run for about 5 seconds.
Here is the history: A few months ago, the right light sometime would not rise. When this happened I just turned them off the on again and everything was fine. Then on one occasion this didn't work and the right light would not come up at all. So I turned the actuator **** under the hood a few turns and the lights both came up properly, but since that time the right motor runs for an additional 5 seconds after lowering.
Is there some way to "synchronize" the lights motors to stop this problem or do I have to replace the gear???
Any help will be much appreciated.
This is on my 2002 Z06. I forgot to enter that on my original message, but since this is C5 tech forum I guess anybody can figure that out.

Reason: Additional info I forgot to enter.
The same thing is happening on my 2001. did you replace the headlight motor or just the gears? Can you provide some instructions on removing and replacing?
I had this on both sides. I didn't have to replace the motor or gear just the black rubber "clutch" that sits on the inside of the gear.
You'll need to do this ASAP befor the plactic gear gets stripped.
Look on EBay there is a guy that sells brass gears - I e-mailed him about the black rubber part - he sold me just the black rubber part for $5 delivered.
Once you remove the motor, it's an easy replacement.
