Maybe the posi unit. Might need a additive you can get it at the
dealer. Slang for it is whale oil. It lubes the clutches in posi unit
of the rear end. Hope that is what it is.
Check the wheel bearings and hub assemblies. Jack the car up and check for any free play in the wheel assemblies by gripping the top and bottom of each tire and then trying to push or pull on the wheel. Do the same from test gripping the left and right side of each tire.. Rotate each tire and see if you hear any grinding noise. If you notice the noise more when turning right, suspect one of the left side bearing hub assemblies might be going bad since the left side wheels are loaded in a right turn
Other areas to check would be rear differential lubrication, suspension components loose, crack in wheel, brake calipers and mounting brackets loose. Also check th rear parking break assembly as sometimes parts fail or come loose inside the drum and create a ginding noise.
Do a search in C5 Tech under Wheel Bearing Noise. You will find all kinds of posts there. Good luck with it.
If the noise is most noticable during slow speed sharp turns or u-turns, it's likely the differential positraction clutches. As suggested, the first thing to try is a diff fluid change with the correct positraction additive. Worst case is a complete diff rebuild (don't ask how I know). Hopefully yours is something cheaper.
My 2:73's started making noise about a year ago. Diff fluid change helped for a short while (6 months) then it came back. When you change your diff fluid check to see if there are any shiny metal chunks in it. Mine did.
On the bright side, it forced my upgrade to DTE 3:42's sooner.

I’m getting the same symptoms but I feel the vibrations when doing anything over 10 mph. Even when I’m on the highway going 60 mph on a subtle right turn I can feel the gas peddle vibrating. I changed my transmission and diff fluid a month ago, I’m not getting any noise or vibrations under sharp right or left turns.
Ex: When I do figure eights, I hear and feel nothing. When I go on an entrance ramp to a highway (right turn) or going around a turn at high speed I feel the vibration in the gas peddles.
I did my rear end fluid a couple of months ago, but I used Amsoil severe gear oil, which needs no additive at all. Nice and easy! That is if you are gonna do the rear fluid!
