I have a '99 hardtop with 81K on the odometer. It has a rather loud clicking type noise that you can hear better when under the car vs. on top of the car. I thought injectors but seems to sound louder when lsitening on the bottom. Not a rod knock. So, does anyone have any thoughts on what would be causing the clicking? When sitting in the driveway at a stop, I can give it gas and the clicking speeds up in relation to the revs of the engine.

Sounds like your airconditioning compressor. The compressors usually click when they engage and disengage due to the magnetic clutch.
You can probaply have a better listen to the exact location by using a stethoscope or putting a screwdriver to your ear and placing the screwdriver on the area you want to listen to. Just make sure you are careful not to put the screwdriver near any moving parts.
I hope this helps.
