black Z06, the jump start only worked once, the first time it happened. Once i got it home I could jump start until I am blue in the face and all I get is this single click from under the car.

Then it sure sounds like the starter .... since that is an expensive part I just wanted to be sure before you replaced it that the problem wasn't the battery.

I had the top off about two and a half years ago to replace the lifters. While there, had the valves done, replaced the pushrods, rockers, springs and guides.

Last question, if I am getting a clicking sound at the starter... Is there any need for me to check any fuses or relays? If so, which ones and where are they located (under hood or under dash)?

NO.
If you are certain clicking is coming from starter.

Sounds like the solenoid portion of the starter has failed. If its the case about all you can do is replace the whole thing.

My pleasure.. Get this. My buddy uses a mechanics purchasing account at an auto parts distributer.. Mechanics make out well. List for the starter was 240. I paid 95. So not only do they bang you over the head with the labor, but they get the part for a lot cheaper.
