I know that many of you have driven your C5 over 100 mph. I haven't gone there yet, but at any speed below triple digits, the mph on the HUD seems to fill up all the space for the speed indication.
above 99 mph do the numbers get smaller and 3 digits show or what?
There is also even room for a tiny little 2 at the top left of the one to let you know when you go above 199 :)
Actually, when you take it over 199, it only shows the right 2 digits, so 200 MPH would be shown as 00. I've tried this by switching to KM/H and taking it over 200 Km/H. :D

The only way for you to know for sure is to take it over 99.. I myself wouldn't believe anyone here that there is room for a "1"... I have to take it over 99 everytime I drive to make sure there is room. ;)

hmmm, mabey its for MPH then. Because there is definatly a number 2 at the top left of the 1.
also note that the check gages (<--- yes i know how to spell gauges but does gm) was on. hmmmmmm. if you get down to no bars which i have, you end up on low fuel. also i really hope the driver didn't take that picture or was too distracted by someone taking it for them
Yeah, the 1 has plenty of space. Besides, once the 1 appears (and yes, it was a mystery for me too) you stop worrying about it and pay more attention to the road hehe.
I'm really impressed with this aspect of the 'vette though... I'd never do such a thing, but if I had taken mine up to 135 on a local highway I would have been very impressed by how smooth and calm the car was. ;) :smash:
The picture could have been done on a dyno. That's why I always post videos. :D
Seems like it is on a dyno because it looks like the pic was taken from outside the car
How many dynos are set up in the middle of the road at night??? Look out the windshield guys!
When I took my Y2K TR Coupe in for the first alignment, i told the service manager (who is a friend) that it needed an alignment, oil change, fuel sensors were screwed up and it had a slight wind noise at 105. I got a good chuckle out of the expression on his face. I think it is the rear view mirrors.
