Track day driving 7/10ths on street tires:
Hawk HP Plus pads $120
Napa rotors $25
I get around 3 HPDE's in on this setup before the whole thing needs replacing.
Everyday driving:
Hawk Performance Ceramic Pads
Brembo Sport Slotted rotors
No dust, and looks cool.
Pagid have a good reputation, and another maker with a good rep is Porterfield. I haven't tried the Pagid pads ... but probably will at some point.
Usually if I have brake needs (parts or advice) I talk to these guys ... they are local to me (relatively) and have a C5 that they race. They have good parts prices, and I have yet to get bad advice from them ....
NAPA rotors were mentioned and written about quite a bit on the Forum. But the general take was avoid rotors made in China. I seemed to understand that the NAPA rotors were from Canada but when I went in to pick mine up the box said they were made in China. So I passed them up.
Any experience with the Chinese NAPA rotors warping or cracking?
they should give you the option when you go to NAPA if you want the cheap POS Chinese imports or the better ones that are either made in America or Canada - the better ones used to run $25 a piece, but they were bumped up to $35 a piece recently...
