I would like to know if it is neccessary to bring my 2001 C5 into the dealer to check on the Auto Traction Gauge. Its been on/off for about few months now. Is this just a maintainance or is this really something wrong with my Auto Traction. Is this another thing from the Manufacture to have you bring the car in for them to just check it and make a big buck out of you. If it is a maintainance, how can you rest it? Also, I would like to take my vette into Jiffy Lube to change my oil, is there a reset button to bring the oil back to 100% after its been changed.

Not sure what you mean by the Auto Traction Gauge. Do you mean you are seeing a Traction Active message or a Service Traction Control message on the DIC. You have to be specific about what message you are seeing as there are several. Read your codes by pushing the fuel button 4 times at the same time you are pushing and holding the options button. If you have a Traction Control problem it most likely will set a few codes that you can read on the DIC.
To reset the oil life monitor on any GM car all you have to do is turn the ignition key to ON and push the throttle pedal 3 times.

Do a forum search on changing your own engine oil and filter. It is very easy once you are under the car. Also do a forum search on safely and properly jacking up the C5.
I recommend avoiding places like jiffy lube. Most of those places employ incompetent (or maybe more correctly "irresponsible") personal. Just my opinion that many others seem to share.
Although I’ve never used them, my experience through friends and relatives, ranges from un-tightened drain plugs and/or un-tightened oil filters to improper fill levels to trying to sell unnecessary services.
One example:
I’ve tightened two oil filters (in a row) on my sister’s car AFTER she returned to the “quick change” place and was told they could not find the leak. What gross incompetence. (Couldn’t believe she went back the second time for an oil change and experienced the same result)
