Help - broke my MAF!

While removing the screen on my Z06 MAF, I busted off the little threaded hole on the outside of the MAF. I don't think that it serves any purpose on a Z06 and don't know why its there.

I have already ordered another MAF from the Chevy dealer. Looking at the broken one, it appears to be other wise ok. The damage is all on the outside, the inside lookes fine.

Now I am second guessing my decision to buy another MAF. My question is, should I put this one back on my car? If "feels" structually sound, how much stress and vibration does a MAF take? These little wires inside look pretty delicate, I can't imagine it gets beat up too bad.

Sorry for the crappy pictures, I'm buying a new digital camara in a few weeks.

As long as the wires aren't damaged and there aren't any air leaks then it will be fine.

If you do decide to buy a new one, buy it from Fitchner...you'll save a bundle.
