Default Alternator / Voltage Issue Question

I posted this question before, but maybe somebody will be able to answer now.

I have a 2001 Vette. The gauges do the normal sweep action.

The voltage gauge reads 12.3 - 12.6 and so does the DIC reading.

Plugged in scanner and it read 14.2 and so did the multimeter.

Where does the DIC and Volt meter pull there readings from ?

When I first start car I am getting low volt reading until the car runs about 30 seconds.

Battery is new.

According to the Service Manual the displayed voltage is the voltage supplied DIRECTLY to the IPC. So, even if other parts of the car are getting a different voltage, the IPC reports what it sees.

IPC power is supplied thru two fuses ... Fuse 25 (Always hot) and fuse 19 (Hot in ON and START). Both fuses are in the I/P fuse block. The IPC is grounded thru Splice Pack 208 and to ground point G104

Try checking the voltage at the fuses to a different ground. It should be the same as your multi-meter shows when you test across the battery terminals. Then check the splice pack and ground point for corrosion, as a bad ground could lead to a lower voltage reading.

G104 is locted on frame up by the head light.

IP fuses are located in the passenger side footwell.

Thanks, I'll check them out and see what I get. It's gotta be something simple and I didn'gt want to kill myself figuring it out if somebody had the answwer.
