I installed my Corsa Indys tonight. I love the WOT sound but as I let off, it reminds me of the old pick up trucks back home in Texas. It has a gurgling sound and sometimes it backfires and pops. Does this indicate an exhaust leak or is this a natural sound?

Re: Question about exhaust install... (TheWoody)
It's pretty much normal from what I've heard. I occasionally get a little of that when "backing off" when engine is still not up to full temp. It's not really objectionable to me. I don't seem to notice it when engine is up to full temp. I've got an x-pipe too and that may have a little affect also. :D
Yes, that is correct. I did not think I would like it, but I do.... Listen to some road races, all of the cars pop/crackle on decelleration. :D An x-pipe will definitely quiet it down.
Woody,
That's exactly why I bought them. Even down shift (A4) to keep the RPMs around 2k to get the guggle/pop when slowing down. That sound and WOT was one of the main reasons my wife said "go buy those" when she heard them.
They even sound better on a roadster - nothing to keep the sound from reaching you in the cockpit.
I am beginning to think I made a mistake with getting the Corsa indy system. No matter what I do, I cannot get the clamps to hold the pipes in place. I want to just take it out and put the stock exhaust back in because the misaligned pipes make my car look like it's a deformed c5 (my boss' exact words!).
They hold well until I start to drive it. I guess the bumps in the road vibrate it enough to make them loose. :mad
