Several things can cause them to squeak, but the two most likely reasons ....
1) glazed pads ... if you generally brake mildly the pads will become polished and then can squeak. Try a couple of relatively hard stops and see if that clears it.
2) some pads that are "high performance" will squeak when cold. Nothing can really be done about it, you just have to heat the pads to get it to stop.

What kind of pads are on the car ??
hey i think that did the job.THANKS! i do use my brakes mildly, so i guess glazing was the culprit. not sure what kind of brakes i have, i`m thinking factory. if that helps.you the man!! thanks again
I brought my car back to the dealership several times within 6 months after buying it for the squealing brake noise problem. I thought the service manager was feeding me BS when he was telling me I wasn't braking strong enough! So - a few months later I'm letting my brother drive the car through Houston (he's in his 40's, I'm in my 50's). I was in the passenger seat and telling him the story about the brakes while looking out the window. For whatever goofball reason, he decided to test the brake response to instantaneously decellerate from 80 to 60. It took me a good 4 days before I was able to move my head and look to the left after that!
