Default Long tube headers or X-pipe with cats?

I have a 2003 corvette that already has a cat back exhaust and I will be adding an ECS supercharger to it within the next month or so. The rest of it is stock (A4 auto). At this point, I only have the funds to either put in long tubes or an x-pipe with cats. Which one would you recommend going with?

Thanks
Emil

You'll probably want to get both. X-pipes work in conjunction with your headers and vise versa.

What kind of budget are we talking here? Most longtubes come with an integrated x-pipe as a system. LG Streets are $995, Texas Speed are $795, and SS Auto Works are $595 for complete systems. The other brands are all $1400 or higher.....

Hope this helps....

I would wait until you can get the longtubes and x-pipe at the same time. And I would delete the cats.

Yeah, that's what I meant. It's actually less than that price but there's some minor things you have to pick up for it all to come together...

I think the best move would be to wait and get both at the same time. I am impressed as to how much hp you gain from the long tubes and x-pipe. This combo should allow me to maximize the gains from the supercharger.

Definitely....if you have to save up for an extra month or two to step up to a complete system designed to work as a unit then do so. Any of the choices listed here would be an excellent upgrade over the stock manifolds...

Put the SSAW on mine and could not be happier !!!

I bought American Racing headers. $1600. They come with the X-pipe and integrated "high flow" cats. It connects right up to the catback exhaust. Mine are going on this weekend.

Anybody know the web-site or aftermarket supplier for the SS Auto Works headers.. I would be interested in seeing those... price is clearly an advantage... but I am sceptical...

any more feedback out there?
Many thanks
