Extended warantee question...

Ken will e-mail you the current rates. There are several packages with diff. time/mile/deductables/prices.
Seems like $2g's is a little high but the package you described is one of the top of the line warranties.

I'm thinking about one of these for my '02. The coverages appear excellent and the prices are as well.

This warranty is accepted by every dealer across the country.. they pay the dealer the same day, you do not have to pay anything out of your pocket..
This warranty starts when you get it.... Gm's warranty starts from the day you bought your car.. so a GM warranty for seven years starts the day your purchase the car... so you are only actually getting a four year warranty .. the first three years come with the car... With Warranty Direct you need atleast one month remaining on your original warranty, and 1000 miles.. You get seven years After the first three years are up . if you chose to wait..
After reading the link above, you will be able to make a more educated choice

A guy here needed a starter, alternator, and battery.... three seperate issues 3 X 100 = 300 dollars out of his pocket... Read that link about dealer scams with warranties..
So anyhoo, weeks later, I cancelled the GMPP (had 60 days to cancel, 100% refundable) and I knew I was doing the right thing when the finance manager got a bit miffed when I could not be convinced to do otherwise. It's amazing how nice she was when I was buying the GMPP, but so short and huffy when I changed my mind.
I don't mind admitting that I can barely afford this car, and I really need the money for mods. Am I stupid, living on the edge, no extended warranty parachute? I dunno, maybe. I figure I'm saving about $80/month by foregoing the inflated price GMPP I originally bought. If I take that $80/month, earmark it for repairs, and put it into an investment that pays 2.5%APR, and have no out-of-warranty repair bills, I should have about $3K at the end of 3 years when the standard warranty has expired ( http://www.webwinder.com/wwhtmbin/java_fv2.html ). At the end of 5 years (the term of my loan), I should have over $5K in my "repair" fund, if I haven't spend anything in repairs.
Warranties, like any insurance, buy peace of mind, and are fully worth whatever price you're willing to pay for them. For an example of GMPP cost schedules, visit http://www.gmoutlet.com/2002gmpppricing$$.html
Hope that helps!
