I see ones that are prices at $20 and others at $28-36. Are they different? Does one get rid of the 1-4 Shift Light and others dont? Thanks in advance.
The bypass units do not eliminate the dash light.
Most units are the same. Just make sure you order from a reputable dealer, and don't get burned by the $1.00 resistor from Radio Shack and 2 pieces of tape version.
I noticed that even Ecklers, which is usually expensive, has them for $23.99.
None get rid of the skip shift light. Just go to Radio Shack, get a 2200 ohm resistor, and stick it in the cable connector. Cover the two connectors with some electrical tape, zip tie the cable to the tranny (which you have to do anyway), and call it good.
The only thing the CAGS packages have that this doesn't is two weatherpack plugs; one has the 2200 ohm resistor embedded, the other is just a plug.
Oh, and you should be able to get the resistors for a couple of bucks or so.

HTH, and have a good one,
Mike
Good to know! thanks for the info. which side of the cable do we plug the resistor into?
This one uses the same type and brand of connectors GM uses. They are all very much the same. I would only recommend that you make sure you get one that has two connectors: one that has the resistor and plugs into the plug, and one protective cap that plugs into the solenoid. That way you dont get your connectors corroded. There are ones on ebay for $8 but they don't have a solenoid plug cap. Their reasoning is, "you don't want to plug into what you are trying to bypass." That's a bunch of crap.
Some make the resistor argument, but for $20, I'll take weathertight connectors.
