The Bose system is not the best althought it sounds decent with CDs. Did you try using the fader to get sound only in the front? How does it sound? Do both speakers work? If they both work and do not snap crackle or pop, there is probably nothing wrong with them and you need to upgrade.

yea i tried the fade button, they both sound really weak so i was wondering if the in dash amp could be bad---
If the speakers in the front are sounding weak, you might want to up grade to an after market system. However if you do you'll have to get a Bose Interface that works with the speakers in the front, or change them altogether.
If you still arent sure you may want to swap the rears with the fronts. If the fronts improve it may be the speakers, if they do not(and they sounded good in the back), you have other problems. Bose parts are pretty cheap on this site.
