Default What Is This?

Wifey found these things on the garage floor where I normally park the Vette. Anybody recognize them? I'm concerned that they might have come off the car.

It's too small - only about 1 1/2 inch diameter.

Well, since this one says RIGHT SIDE, I would start looking around under the car for the LEFT SIDE one and see what it is attached to.

I have never seen anything like that under my car though.

Go back to the last dealership or garage you had work done.

It says "DO NOT USE IMPACT GUN" so it's something for automotive use. And since they don't want an impact gun, it's off something that requires little to no torque but does require precise measurement/degree.

...maybe a temporary timing degree tool...(doesn't a Corvette usually get timed by a tuner with a computer rather than a timing light?).

A guess ... does the car have adjustable shocks on it ??? That may be the cover for the adjustment. Take a look at your left side shocks and see if they have a similar part.

Right. The car is stock and does not have variable ride control. I'll get under the car this weekend and see if I can figure it out. Whatever it is, its not being on the car doesn't affect handling or ride or anything else that I can tell.

OK, sorry, should have looked at your profile .....

Any other vehicles park in the garage, could it be from one of them ??

If not, I'd check what your wife has been up to, she may have modded the washing machine and installed adjustable shocks on it ....

Good luck ... doesn't look like a C5 part to me ...

I don't know what they are, but I'm pretty sure they're not off a C5.

Have a good one,
Mike

Default I know what it is

It is from the spring tensioner for your garage door. It came off the right hand side of the tensioner. It is all plastic and has a housing that can allow it to dislodge.

I just put up a new one and recognize it.

I hope this helps.

You are the MAN !!!!!

No where else could this happen but here. A Corvette has god knows how many parts to it and the man can tell it is a part from the garage door.

I have to tell you, I am truly amazed, I would never have even thought about it being from the garage door.
