Default Piston question.. ??? Anyone

Are LS1 and LS6 pistons the same. I was reading that the LS6 was a higher compression motor than the LS1 among other improvements, but what was the higher compression attributed to? Piston design or Head?

Head ... I'll check but I'm pretty sure the pistons are exactly the same between LS1 and LS6.

Can't find the part number for the pistons, but the rings are 88984247 and are for ALL LS1/6 engines.

Go to http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...&siteid=214638

Enter your year and car and do a keyword search on "piston"

pistons are $123.01 list price and are listed for ALL LSx engines 1997-2004.
