Headlight motor noise
My left headlight opening is intermitten. When it does open, after it is all the way up there is a noise like plastic gears grinding for about 10 sec. then it stops. It is easy to assume there is something wrong in the motor to the light, but could it be a limit swithch? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Bill

This is a pretty common problem with C5s. There is a plastic gear in the headlight motor that breaks. A lot of guys who are handy, get a bronze replacement gear and rebuild the motor themselves.
I break things when I try that and it costs me more than if I had my mechanic do the job, so I pay to have it done.
Any of the catalog shops have the parts. Ecklers, GM partsonline, etc.
