Installed HUD in my car today. Everything went great until I tried to take it for a test drive. When I started the car my display said REMOVE KEY, WAIT 10 SEC .. SO I did. Now my display says SERVICE COLUMN LOCK and the car dies if I try to move. Any ideas what I broke or how to fix it? My dealer said they did the lock recall, but somone said it could be from the recall. Any advice would be great... thanks
Lots of info on this - check the first sticky topic at the top of this section.
Apparently the GM recall doesn't work very well there's a product that does not allow the column to be locked that does work.
You can free the wheel by turning th ekay on and pulling hard to left or something like that - there is detailed info once you search.
Don't feel bad as it's not really your fault or anything you did.
If the recall has been done, locate the K harness they installed and remove it.... car should be fine then. The harness the dealer installed in mine went bad and caused the same thing. I used EFI Live and just turned off the system after I pulled out the harness.
