Default Help! Wiring (02 Sensor).....

Ok... here it goes...

The factory wiring (passenger side) for the pigtail of the male and female (close to the PCM) seems to go like this...

Male..................Female.........Letter

Tan...................Green..........A

Purple................Purple..........B

Black.................Black...........C

Red/Brown..........Blue............D

Now the plugs I just bought have some of the wires mixed and go like this....

Male.................Female.........Letter

Tan..................Blue.............A

Purple...............Purple..........B

Black................Black...........C

Pink.................Green...........D

I am so confused on how to wire this up and what route to take. I don't even know if the wires on the car right now are correct but they sure look like factory plugs and wiring. Heres a few pics...

Factory Female (supposeably)...

Replacement Male and Female... Green and Blue wires don't match letter sockets according to what's on the car.

Replacement Male and Factory Female...

Any other pics need of combinations or whatever just let me know... the factory female is basically burnt to a crisp when I found it and the female obviously has the green wire cut.

If anyone can help me figure out this headache I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

its in the OP... but I want to wire the two pigtails up but the female and male pigtails that I just bought don't match up with the factory pigtail wiring far as colors... the blue and green wires are switched... and don't know which way to wire it

Not sure what year you have, but my 99 service manual lists the following:

Left front: Pin A Tan/Wht; Pin B PPL/Wht; Pin C BLK, Pin D BRN. The right side is the same color combo except no white stripe on the Tan and Purple wire.

Do you have a service manual?

I did some research into this very wiring some time ago when setting up a LM-1 to emulate the stock narrow-band sensor. Hope this helps:

its for a 99 and no i don't have a service manual... damn previous owner

but what im asking if these colors will work...

Male.................Female.........Letter

Tan..................Blue.............A

Purple...............Purple..........B

Black................Black...........C

Pink.................Green...........D

as thats how its would be set if i were to wire the pigtails... but thats not how the factory wiring colors are set... so I'm wondering if its ok to splice the factory green wire into the female blue for slot A and the factory blue wire spliced into the female green for slot D

As long as the wires go to the same terminal as the original and the sizes are the same I can't see how the color would make any difference. Make them plaid if you want.

FYI. Don't blame the previous owner, the service manual does not come with the car;however the owners manual does.
