I found it.
DTC B0026 LF/Driver Frontal Deployment Loop (Single Stage or Stage 1) Open

What does that mean? I have an aftermarket aibag on/off switch. I checked the 3 wires and all the connections are good. The fuse is good. Now what?

B0026 means the SDM (airbag computer) found an open circuit between it and the driver's airbag. It checks those circuits every time you turn the key to run. If they are OK it kills the airbag lite. Your lite should be on at this time. Any open in the circuit will trigger this code. The most common cause is the clockspring under the wheel. Has any part of the steering column been apart recently? When did you first notice the airbag lite coming on? I'm not familiar with your airbag off switch. I assume it controls pass side only so it should not be part of the problem. Be advised your driver's airbag is inop at this point. HTH

Yes,
there was some steering wheel work done around when this problem started. But I have also had the typical ground problems with this car. I will check the ground first.
From a different post "The only GND I can see for the SIR system is a BLACK/WHITE wire from the SDM to Splice Pack 208, which is then grounded at G104 with a BLACK/WHITE wire. G104 is located on the frame almost directly below the battery" So I will start there.
Then I will check the clock srping wire under the steering column. Is this visible without removing anything. Anyone have any specifics of where to look? Any help would be appreciated.
I spent the last 12 months having the motor and trans rebuilt and sorting out numerous gremlins along the way. This could be the last one!

So it is probably the clock spring. Anyone have a part number for 1999?
